The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has commissioned an interdisciplinary consortium of experts from the field of natural science, law,  conomics, politics, sociology and ethics to provide a comprehensive report on recent scientific knowledge related to climate engineering. The experts conducted six disciplinary reports and one integrative interdisciplinary report. The Kiel Earth Institute, as member of the project team, coordinated and published the report. These reports constitute the first comprehensive reports on the subject of climate engineering published in Germany. Due to its broad interdisciplinary approach, they provide a more comprehensive coverage of the subject than previous reports that have shaped scientific and political debates. These reports will serve to provide a broad, well-founded basis for the political opinion-forming and decision-making process, and also for communicating the subject to the public.

GLUES is a consortium of project partners for the scientific coordination and synthesis of the BMBF "Sustainable Land Use Management" program.
The "Sustainable Land Management" program supports regional research projects. These projects work in different regions world-wide while being connected through international research programs.
The GLUES project aims to support the international cross-disciplinary collaboration of research projects dealing with the issue of land use, greenhouse gas emissions and ecosystem services. (Photo: Gernot Klepper)
